My mother had a friend named Simon Newey-he's a photographer in NYC and gave this to my mom years ago. In 2011 some offered me $100 for it. I said no.
So for years it has moved around my house-and finally I've come up with the solution!

A few days ago I walked into Stop n Shop in Southington, CT and was greeted with a woman who said Hello but didn't smile--so it was comical to me. The guy putting my groceries in bags didn't smile either--and the whole experience made me realize how much I enjoy shopping and talking.
So, its always nice to run into people who have different opinions on political situations such as the Mayors 23 percent raise. I believe yes the Mayor does need a raise. So, in 2025--lets raise the salary to $99.00 BUT, Not now.
The Alderman's wife told me that our Mayor didn't ask for the raise...NO Shit! what person in their right mind would ask for a 23 percent raise after raising our taxes 14 percent with in her two terms...and we still don't know if she will raise taxes this year. But, since she is up for re-election history tells us No. So, we are safe for this year. If she wins re-election--she will raise taxes and her $89,000 salary. (BTW, what 30 year old out side of finance, or a Kardashian sister makes 89,000 dollars?)
But, I know the Alderman didn't do this without the Mayor's consent. If she wants a raise- get another job.
Another person came into this conversation and I found out later that the woman went to school with Paul J. (PJ) Manafort. "He was an ass then and he's an ass now."
Ah, Republicans. If they only knew how many people they hurt when they govern.
Being grateful is difficult. This week my friend got a new car—I could have been very jealous —but I didn’t want to—so I mediated to let the good feelings in. When you show the world how much you are so grateful for life—life shows you how grateful it is for you.
It’s the same way when my friend gets a big promotion at work—you can be sad for yourself and get yourself into a bad mood-OR you can be happy for her and wish her luck and best wishes and feel good for her.
If you are having a hard time—mediate. It really works. I don’t know how or why—but closing your eyes and concentrating on good feelings helps. I use Doreen Virtue or any of the Hay House authors who have mediation and I use you tube to get the meditations for FREE.
Good Luck with your feelings and let me know how you are doing--I care.
The news was devastating for David Cassidy—the 70’s heartthrob from The Partridge Family, as it was for all of his fans when they found out the love of our lives has dementia. Many have loved this man as I have—I even remember the day January 9, 1971 when I “woke up in love this morning.” Its in my diary that I kept as a child and wrote about how much I loved him and others. He has always been my first love. I have followed his career and have seen almost everything he has done. I’ve flown to Vegas to see him in EFX and tried to interview him once—and gave his assistant my T-shirt for him to autograph. I have never received it back…but that happened in 1999 and I may be over it.
This is David when he was in his early 20's in the 1970s. This is how I will always remember my David.
I was very lucky when my friend Pam a friend who is a big deal at Mohegan got me front row tickets when he appeared there a few years ago. It was the second time I was front row for his concert. He was charming and sexy as always. During the show DC looked at my phone which had a great photo of him as Keith. He smiled and said—“she was very pretty.“ He always made fun of his looks when he had long hair. What a great sense of humor he has.
After the show His bass guitarist gave me a guitar pick that I still have today.
I can’t imagine how scared he is—and how knowing when I walk into the kitchen and can’t remember why –this must be terrifying for him-as well as a wake up call for everyone who has some memory loss. Go to a dr and get checked. And when you are given a clean bill of health donate some money to a good cause.
A message to David Cassidy----How can I help? You have millions of fans who would do most anything for you. If you tell us –we can do it.

Growing up in the 70's Robert Redford was a big deal. In 2017 he still is and that is why when he walked into the theater on Saturday evening he created a stir. During the intermission for Sunset Boulevard (great show--Glenn Close is wonderful as the whole cast is) I wanted to go and meet him but my best friend Marianne would NOT let me out of my row. "Sit on your hands." she kept telling me--knowing if I did--I would be silent.
So, after the show he was still in his row and sat while the theater emptied out. Taking my time I watched people look at him but no one walked up to him. I would be one of the few who did. And you know what? He shook my hand firmly and smiled at me when I told him I was a writer. He was so nice. We discussed how important writers are and thanked him for the film festival he started decades ago.
One minute he gave of himself and made this woman very happy.
Now, the week before I prayed to meet someone famous such as Barbra Streisand who would be sitting in front of me at the theater.
Now on to getting sponsors for this blog.
These are the Cadder Sisters. I met Barb (in red) at my first job out of college at the local newspaper. Barb was sitting at a large desk and answering phones from 2-8 every weekday. I was working from 4-8 selling subscriptions to the newspaper. The next day after meeting we found out our moms worked together at the local bank in the 1950's...three decades before we met in the 80's.
Jeanne (she will kill me for this photo with her eyes shut) was the middle sister who helped me with all of my boy troubles and helped me get over my loss when my best friend started dating my guy (the one I took to Barb's wedding) to Ed. We were all lost when he died in Dec of 2015.
Ann--the blond on the right is the eldest sister and is so kind to me (the others are too--kindness you don't see in many people now) --I can remember her telling me when my mom was yelling at me for something I hadn't done and she asked, "Leslie, how can I help you?" She invited me for the rest of my life to share Christmas with them.
These are three friends I can't live without and I dont!. We spend holidays together and just enjoy each others company and I get to see what having three sisters are like and how they all get along and work out their differences.
Love these three women! You are on my list of grateful!
Dear News Media (Except FOX)
Whatever you need from this journalist graduate (University of Bridgeport 82) you got. I am so proud of Chuck Todd, and Jake Taper for speaking out for us. Speaking out against a lie is the best way to keep our country safe. Lets hope our elected officials are not greedy and will keep us safe. But how do you keep yourself safe from your own kind? I was always amazed at a leader who hurt his own kind-his own people. But now with this new year and new president we will see that in action--God, I hope not!
I'm very proud of Chuck and Jake. But, you know Rachel Maddow has been doing it for years. Media people, if you need anything, ask.
Love, Leslie
