Being Grateful

by Leslie Jacobs

Seeing the good when your mind only wants to see the bad.

Sitting on my porch in the suns warmth.

Friendships that end and ones that stay alive.

Knowing that selling your home is the right thing to do .

Snickers my dog.

It’s called Depression and I’m in hell-but digging my way out

by Leslie Jacobs

Most people will suffer depression from an event. A parent dying at a young age or something equally earth shattering.

Im in the throes of depression and with my therapist and drugs -I will one day want to hear music again. Music hurts my ears when I’m depressed. I don’t talk to people when I’m like this because I become “Mean Leslie.”

Actually, it’s the spontaneous crying and anger towards very wealthy people such as Kylie Jenner and Trump and institutions such as a Bank In America ( A Bank In America didn’t repay me $90,000 for paying my moms medical bills due to her fall outside of a Bank in America. They paid $10,000 and I’m not legally able to say the banks name)  that makes me so angry I think of getting cancer again and dying in my bed.  At 59 1/2 it could happen.

A Bank In America didn’t repay me $90,000 for paying my moms medical bills due to her fall outside of a Bank in America. They paid $10,000 and I’m not legally able to say the banks name.

Depression for me manifests in dirty dishes in the sink-usually for a day. Not listening to music in my car or home and not reading books. The Only good thing depression does is make me NOT want to eat. And, if you know me when I’m happy - I ate three helping of my friends Christmas cookies for Breakfast and I’m dairy, egg and gluten free.

I’m moving

by Leslie Jacobs

It’s been a difficult journey through all the cancer and car accident that has brought me here today. I’m selling my beloved home. It’s been in my family since 1967 when we moved in. My mother died in this house in 2011 and then I moved back in.

But without a full time job paying $6,000 a year for taxes Is something I can’t handle.

I love this house.

Holy Cow! I was fat! But the 8 hr diet works!

by Leslie Jacobs

I’m the one on the right in the Grinch pants and purple top. I also weigh more than 270 at the time. This was taken in 2012 at our annual Christmas crawl. What a great time we had.

Do I need to hire a lawyer?

by Leslie Jacobs

I applied to be the social and marketing vendor at yoga & mediation facility in Plainville, CT. The owner, a young petite woman advertised for only one year experience so I knew I was good with that -sInce I’m on Twitter and Instagram and Facebook! Oh my!

On the day after Christmas 2018 I showed up with my homework. I wanted to discuss how to use yoga to help different age groups and how I could help her with social media but after a few minutes this happened:

She read both tweets and asked for the photo. “You didn’t ask for a photo you asked for the words but If I’m the photographer too then, I’d a use photo of downward dog. “

She then said “you’re too old to do this. You are just too old “

I told her it was against the law.

“I’m getting angry. I’m getting really angry.” She kept repeating that phrase. I thought I had landed in the twilight zone.

But, in the end she hired me for one day-and that day turned into her wanting my marketing ideas and I was told about how crazy she can be. Yelling at employees-if they turn up the heat because her father will yell at her since he owns the business.

Oh and I sent her my marketing ideas. If she uses them and I will know-I think I can sue.

Snickers ate a vegan chocolate chip cookie and lived!

by Leslie Jacobs

As I was seeing a friend out the door, my dog noticed the cookies wrapped in paper and sitting on a ledge. He grabbed it and ate one cookie.

I called two dog friends—both of them didn’t answer.  So, I put it on Facebook to call me and both called-at the same time.

Needless to say Barb calmed me down and gave me food ingredient advice. Sharon provided all the phone numbers to the vets if need be-and they both were there for me.

Then, I called my friend Anne and she called me back too! I truly appreciate how attentive my friends were to me in a crisis.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
